Boiled Yam
Boiled Yam: a homemade version with weighed ingredients and detailed preparation.
Ingredients
- 800 g identified edible yam, peeled
- 2000 ml water
- 3 g salt
- 20 g olive oil
Preparation
Purchase an edible yam variety from a food supplier. Cut the peeled flesh into regular 4 cm cubes. Do not substitute yam with an unidentified root.
Place the pieces in salted water, bring to a boil, then cook for approximately 20 to 25 minutes, until fully cooked. The flesh should be easily pierced by a knife tip.
Drain and discard the water. Pour the measured oil over the still-hot yam and mix gently.
Serve without adding any accompaniment to the basic calculation.
