Boiled Yam
Boiled yam complements tuber side dishes. The name does not refer to sweet potato; the product must be a properly identified food species.
Ingredients
- 800 g of identified and peeled edible yam flesh
- 2000 ml of water
- 3 g of salt
- 20 g of olive oil
Preparation
Use yam sold for food and follow the supplier's preparation instructions. Peel it without tasting it raw and cut it into 4 cm cubes.
Rinse the pieces and immerse them in salted water. Bring to a boil then maintain a simmer for about 25 to 30 minutes, depending on the product.
Check for complete cooking and tenderness in the center. Drain, discard the cooking water, add the oil and serve hot.
