Guava juice
🥤 Ripe guava blended with water and strained to remove seeds, without added sugar.
Ingredients
- 600 g ripe washed trimmed guava with sound skin and flesh, weighed before seed removal
- 600 ml cold drinking water
- 20 ml lemon juice
Preparation
Wash guavas thoroughly with drinking water. Remove ends and damaged parts and weigh 600 g prepared fruit before filtering seeds. Cut into pieces.
Put fruit and 300 ml cold water in a clean blender. Pulse briefly for about 20–30 seconds total to break flesh without trying to pulverise every seed.
Pass through a fine sieve into a clean container. Press pulp moderately with a spoon and discard retained seeds and coarse fibres.
Add remaining 300 ml water and 20 ml lemon juice. Mix and refrigerate about 30 minutes. No milk or sugar is added.
Stir and divide into 4 glasses of about 250–300 ml depending on filtering yield. Reference: 20 preparation, 30 cooling, total 50 minutes without cooking.
