Ingredients

  • 600 g kale leaves, thick stems removed weight
  • 300 g chopped tomatoes
  • 150 g peeled sliced onion
  • 15 ml sunflower oil
  • 100 ml drinking water, plus a little as needed
  • Up to 2 g salt and pinch black pepper

Preparation

Remove thick kale stems, wash leaves well, drain, weigh 600 g usable leaves and slice into short fine strips.

Soften onion in measured oil seven minutes over medium low heat, stirring.

Add tomatoes and cook eight minutes until becoming a sauce; pepper and salt lightly.

Add kale in batches with 100 ml water, stirring to wilt. Cover and cook low ten minutes, stirring halfway.

Uncover about five minutes more. Test thickest strips for tenderness; extend with a little hot water if drying.

Adjust salt and divide four side portions. Cereal and other dishes are separate; no meat, fish or stock cube.
