Chapman โ€” alcohol-free Nigerian citrus cocktail

Ingredients

  • 500 ml chilled orange soda
  • 500 ml chilled lemon-lime soda
  • 60 ml alcohol-free grenadine syrup
  • 30 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 small washed orange, thinly half-sliced
  • 100 g washed cucumber, thinly sliced
  • About 300 g drinking-water ice

Preparation

Chill sodas beforehand and prepare ice, a measure, spoon and four clean 400 ml glasses.

Wash and slice orange and cucumber. Remove seeds and measure 30 ml lemon juice.

Divide ice between glasses, about 75 g each. Add orange and cucumber, leaving room at the top.

Add 15 ml grenadine and about 7.5 ml lemon juice to each glass.

Slowly pour 125 ml orange soda into each glass; let foam settle if needed.

Add 125 ml lemon-lime soda per glass. Each portion has about 295 ml liquid before melting ice.

Stir with one or two gentle turns to distribute syrup. Do not shake or blend.

Serve immediately and state that no bitters were used. Assemble later batches just before serving.
