๐ข Beef cubes briefly marinated with lemon, garlic and cumin, then grilled with onion and pepper.
Ingredients
- ๐ฅฉ 700 g tender grilling beef, cut into 2.5 cm cubes
- ๐ง 1 medium onion, quartered
- ๐ซ 1 bell pepper, seeded and cut into squares
- ๐ง 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- ๐ 20 ml lemon juice
- ๐ซ 15 ml vegetable oil
- ๐ฟ 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- ๐ถ๏ธ ยฝ teaspoon black pepper and ยฝ teaspoon sweet paprika, optional
- ๐ง ยพ teaspoon salt
- ๐ง 8 skewers; soak wooden ones for 30 min
- ๐ฅ Tomato, raw onion and lemon to serve, optional
Preparation
If using wooden skewers, soak in cold water for 30 min. Keep the beef refrigerated and prepare a clean serving plate.
Mix garlic, lemon juice, oil, cumin, pepper, paprika and salt in a non-reactive bowl. Add the beef and turn to coat.
Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for 30 min. Do not extend unnecessarily: lemon flavors the surface but does not make the meat safe.
Preheat a clean grill to medium-high. Drain and discard the marinade. Thread beef alternately with onion and pepper, leaving space between pieces.
Lightly oil the grill using an oil-dampened paper towel held with tongs. Grill for about 10โ15 min total, turning every 2โ3 min and adjusting for heat and cube size.
Check the center of the largest pieces with a clean food thermometer and follow local food-safety guidance for beef cubes. Avoid high flames; move skewers if fat flares.
Place on the clean plate and rest for 3 min. Serve hot with salad and a side; do not reuse raw marinade.
